Patricia Mavor

Director

After qualifying as a chartered surveyor many moons ago, I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in property letting, management and estate agency. As a founding member and latterly, the former Chief Officer of a local charity, this has also helped provide me with different skills to develop Mavor & Company and look after my clients. I am proud to have built a successful independent agency, whilst bringing up three children, who are now all coincidentally working within the agriculture industry. I strive to offer exceptional customer service and always provide a professional, personal and stress-free experience for clients, as well as building a great team who share this ethos.

My interests are spending time with my family, walking and swimming in the outdoors, and I am also known to enjoy the odd glass of wine or two with friends.

Finlay McPherson

Director

When we started the business many years ago, my background in mechanics, property development and maintenance helped to complement the business and the property skills that Pat brought to the table. My focus now at Mavor & Company is on inspections and providing all types of maintenance advice to the team. In my spare time I still use my technical skills and experience to turn my hand to diagnose and repair any type of engine including cars, bikes, and even the odd boat engine!

Any other spare time is spent socially with family and friends, experiencing different parts of Scotland and Ireland and sampling their local alcohol produce!

Alan Henderson

Senior Property Manager

I’m currently in my second spell at Mavor & Company. I first started back in 2012 when I had a full head of hair and left in 2017 to work in lettings in Edinburgh and Glasgow, which I thoroughly enjoyed. While I was away, plenty happened: changes to tenancy legislation, the rise of AI, a worldwide pandemic, and the ever-decreasing size of chocolate bars. But my heart was always back in West Lothian so when Pat asked if I’d come back to Mavor & Company, I couldn’t say no. I returned in April 2025 without the full head of hair but with a full ARLA qualification and a wealth of experience.

I’d say that my strongest skills are my commitment to genuine top class customer service, being able to mediate disputes, and using my fifteen years of property management experience to resolve issues. I can also make an excellent cup of tea, which I’m always happy to demonstrate when people pop into the office. I passionately believe that everyone deserves a comfortable, safe, and affordable home, which is something that we always strive for. I’m also proud to be working with an independent company that believes in being part of the local community.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time going on walks with little Ruby, our ever-growing Labrador puppy, writing songs and playing them at open mics, reading, going to the football and watching live bands.

Leanne Taylor

Property Assistant

I joined Mavor & Company as a Property Assistant in September 2025, after working for a few years in the charity sector when I returned to work after taking time out to have my three children. Prior to this I worked for 15 years in the banking sector in a variety of roles, latterly as a Business Manager. I believe my skills, knowledge and experience in administration, finance and customer service are transferable and I can add value to the team at Mavor & Company.

I believe in providing the best level of customer service for all clients and love being part of a team who all feel the same.

In my spare time you will find me spending time with my family, dogs and ponies enjoying the outdoors.

Harris & Isla

Mavor & Company

Both being key members of the team and helping to provide a stress free working environment, they enjoy people and dog watching from the office window. Being a typical mad springer Isla’s skills are in chasing anything that moves for example midges and leaves, depending on the time of year, whereas Harris enjoys quieter pursuits such as fishing and bird watching.
